Rating (4.75/5)

The FlyFin 1900 Centre Console’s aluminum hull structure offers weight advantages over other materials, resulting in improved fuel efficiency. This marine-grade aluminum is renowned for its reliable durability, especially suited for the FlyFin 1900 Centre Console, which frequently navigates in nearshore areas, enduring the impact of rough waters.

Now, I’ll take you through the aspects of the FlyFin 1900 CC, such as the driving experience, passenger experience, specifications, and other details, providing you with a comprehensive understanding of this boat. If you have any other questions about the vessel, feel free to communicate with us.

Driving Experience

I enjoy fishing outings, and I’ve already explored fishing opportunities in the lakes near my home. However, I wanted to venture into new waters and experience the allure of sea fishing, just like most anglers.

After some research on various boats, I decided to purchase a FlyFin 1900 Centre Console, as it seemed to be well-equipped for fishing in the open sea.

After months of anticipation, today was the day I finally received the boat I ordered. I eagerly headed to the boat pick-up location early in the morning.

As soon as I got hold of the FlyFin 1900 Centre Console, I excitedly invited a few fishing buddies to join me and test out the new vessel. The weather was perfect for an outing, and the sea was relatively calm, making it an ideal opportunity.

Comfortable Cockpit

Accompanied by Ivan and Richie, we embarked on our journey. We made sure to bring along essential fishing gear. Sitting in the driver’s seat, I found the cabin to be very comfortable, thanks to the seats’ soft padding. The dual helm seats provided ample space for just me.

The adjustable backrests meant we could change the seating direction as per our preference. I inserted the key and started the engine, feeling the vibration as the boat set off into the ocean. The windscreen in front of the console shielded me from the wind’s direct impact.

Moreover, the specially coated canopy prevented the sun from shining directly on me, which enhanced my fondness for FlyFin 1900 Centre Console. When driving the boat, I had a sense of overseeing everything from the central location, allowing me to have a clear view of the water around me.

The backlit switch panel on the console was thoughtfully designed, enabling me to control the boat effortlessly even in dim lighting. Additionally, the storage pouches under the console made it convenient to keep personal items within reach.

Riding Experience

Following the guidance of the fish finder, I maneuvered the boat around the school of fish. This boat boasts exceptionally powerful fishing capabilities.

I first grabbed our fishing rods, and this boat has plenty of places to store them, including five holders in front of the central console and five on each side of the gunwale, along with six rocket launchers on the Bimini top and four holders at the back of the bait station. In total, we can store 25 fishing rods, fulfilling our storage needs to the maximum.

From the bait station in the center of the stern beam wall, I retrieved the pre-prepared baits, which came with an integrated bait tank.

For certain species of fish in the sea, they tend to prefer preying on smaller fish. Our choice of live bait proved to be effective. Each of us held our fishing rods and spread out across different sections of the boat to fish.

Although the boat didn’t have an excessive number of seats, the spacious deck area provided us with enough room to move around comfortably.

Specifications

The FlyFin 1900 Centre Console is a fully-equipped bay boat that is perfect for offshore fishing.

Firstly, the design of the fiberglass windshield and Bimini top provides excellent protection for the crew in the console, allowing them to cope with strong waves and direct sunlight on the sea.

The central console design of FlyFin 1900 Centre Console offers a 360° unobstructed view of the water, making it convenient for anglers to catch fish from all directions. The luxurious driver’s seat with cushioning provides a comfortable seating experience, and the adjustable backrest allows for changing seating directions.

Furthermore, the fishing capabilities of this boat are outstanding. The interior of the cabin features a total of 25 storage areas, providing ample storage capacity.

The bait station in the center of the stern holds a complete live bait tank, ensuring a fresh supply of bait for fishing activities. The spacious deck setup allows passengers to have plenty of room for movement and easy access throughout the deck.

Other Versions

I considered another smaller boat, the FlyFin 1700 Centre Console. However, after comparison, I chose the 1900 version because it better met my capacity requirements.

Compared to the FlyFin 1900 Centre Console, the construction of the interior cabin in the FlyFin 1700 Centre Console is similar, with only slight differences in size and capacity.

The 1900 CC is larger, with a maximum capacity to accommodate six people, which is more than the 1700 CC. Visually, the most apparent difference between the two boats is in the design of the cabin’s top.

Unlike the Bimini top equipped in the FlyFin 1900 Centre Console the smaller model lacks this feature. Finally, the 1700 CC has a hull angle of 14°, which is about 3° shallower than the other boat, indicating that the 1700 CC may have weaker water-cutting capabilities.

What do we like about it

  • The use of aluminum as the hull material makes the boat lightweight, and it is relatively easy to maintain in the long run.
  • The driver’s cabin with windscreen and Bimini top ensures a comfortable and safe driving experience.
  • The ample rod storage space and bait station in the cabin offer great convenience for fishing activities.
  • The design of the central console provides the captain with a better driving perspective, ensuring safe navigation.
  • The adjustable backrest of the helm seats meets passengers’ various seating preferences.

What we don’t like about it

  • The cabin does not have an excessive number of seats, and having too many passengers may affect the overall riding experience.
  • The limited storage space in the cabin may not be ideal for storing items, although they can be piled up on the deck.

FAQ

1. Can I take my boat out in the bay?

As the name suggests, bay boats are designed for use in bays. However, their operation is limited to areas near the coastline, and it is not advisable to navigate them in the more complex open sea.

2. Can you anchor a pontoon boat in the bay?

Generally, pontoon boats are not suitable for use in saltwater. The high salt concentration can corrode boat components, and the flat bottom of the pontoon boat may not withstand the turbulence of seawater, compromising safety in complex waterways.

3. How long are bay boats?

Commonly, bay boats on the market are typically between 18 to 24 feet in length, which sufficiently meets the basic needs of bay boating.

However, there are also larger boats of over 30 feet with luxurious features and considerable stability, but they come with a higher price tag.

Pathfinder 2200 TRS VS FlyFin 1900 Centre Console

If you prioritize comfort when choosing a boat, then the Pathfinder 2200 TRS might be more suitable for your requirements.

The Pathfinder 2200 TRS offers a more spacious deck space at the bow, covered with comfortable cushions, providing anglers with a premium fishing experience. In the stern area of the boat, there are two jump seats with a flip-up design.

If you don’t need too many seats, you can fold down the backrest of the jump seats. Additionally, the backrests are equipped with anti-skid features, which effectively widen the rear deck area. Almost every seat also has storage space underneath, which is excellent news for passengers with many personal belongings.

Notably, the 28-gallon live well at the stern provides great convenience for fishing activities. Moreover, the cooler placed under the helm seat allows passengers to enjoy refreshing drinks even away from the refrigerator. This greatly enhances the overall passenger experience.

Sea Born FX22 Bay VS FlyFin 1900 Centre Console

The most noticeable difference in appearance between these two boats is the Bimini top on the driver’s cabin.

The former did not take into consideration the boat’s roof, so the driver may be exposed to sun and rain while navigating. This can have a certain impact on the overall driving experience.

Additionally, the former boat has more advanced features and configurations. The cabin supports Bluetooth connectivity for marine stereo, complemented by all-weather marine speakers, delivering your favorite music to every corner of the cabin, and adding more joy to your journey.

If you happen to be dependent on your phone, then I’m not mistaken in assuming that you always need to keep it charged. Well, the console of this boat is equipped with USB ports, allowing you to power your electronic devices anytime. This design is very user-friendly for you.

Even from the perspective of engine power, the former boat has an absolute advantage. With a maximum horsepower of 250 HP, it lays a solid foundation for boosting the speed of the boat. With the strong propelling force, you can reach your desired destinations in less time.

Ranger 2360 Bay Boat VS FlyFin 1900 Centre Console

Do you enjoy a lively atmosphere with a large group of people when you go boating? If your answer is yes, then you might want to take a look at the Ranger 2360 Bay Boat.

Compared to the FlyFin 1900 CC, which is around 17 feet in length, this boat has an absolute size. With a length of over 23 feet, it can accommodate up to 10 people at the same time.

Perhaps due to the increased weight from the larger size, this boat consumes more fuel during navigation. To match the increased fuel consumption, the fuel tank capacity has been upgraded to 81 gallons, which is more than twice that of another boat.

This to some extent ensures the boat’s ability to travel for longer periods, meaning more time to enjoy the water and have fun.

Of course, such luxury in configuration and performance also comes with a higher price for the boat. If you have a limited budget, the price of around $90,000 might put some pressure on you. It’s still recommended to choose the boat that best suits your own needs based on your actual situation.

Summary

The FlyFin 1900 Centre Console with its marine-grade aluminum material improves durability and fuel efficiency. The central console provides the captain with a better driving view, promoting boat safety.

However, even in the used boat market, the price for this boat is over $40,000. If you’re more inclined to want a brand new boat of more guaranteed quality, consider the many bay boats on the NeoBoats website as a good option. If you’re interested, feel free to contact us.
