Overall Impression

Last year, I joined a fishing club. I made many new friends who share my passion for fishing, and I often converse with fellow boat owners. After careful consideration, I decided to retire my old jon boat and purchase a suitable pre-owned bass boat—the Lund 1775 Adventure SS—from Texas.

From the moment I laid eyes on the Lund 1775 Adventure SS, I felt like it was meant to be mine. Its cool appearance, with its Cobalt Blue hull chosen by the previous owner Zamir, captivated me. In the sunlight, the combination of reflective sparkles and the smooth hull made it look quite upscale.

Luckily, Zamir had taken great care of the Lund 1775 Adventure SS, and there were hardly any signs of aging. However, what convinced me to buy it wasn’t just its impressive looks but also its excellent features.

Zamir and I got along well. To put my mind at ease, he offered to take me to a nearby reservoir for a test drive. I greatly appreciated this gesture, as it would help me address any doubts I had about the boat.

The moment I stepped onto the Lund 1775 Adventure SS, I experienced an unprecedented level of stability. It was so much more spacious, comfortable, and stable compared to my jon boat!

Driving Experience

Zamir allowed me to take the wheel of the Lund 1775 Adventure SS. He introduced me to some of the console’s functions, including the speedometer, fuel gauge, and horn. Honestly, that was more than enough for me, as I’m not overly particular.

I liked the interior and navigation lighting of the Lund 1775 Adventure SS, which made me feel like I wouldn’t need to rush home even after dark. The boat also features a sturdy tinted windshield that effectively disperses oncoming wind and shields the water’s glare.

After familiarizing myself with the basic features of the Lund 1775 Adventure SS, Zamir sat in the passenger seat beside me, ready for our water trial. Honestly, the moment my hands touched the smooth throttle, everything became more real. Just a few days ago, I was complaining about how extended operation made my hands ache. Little did I know that I could change that so soon.

As I turned the throttle and started the engine, its performance exceeded my expectations. It wasn’t noisy, and its speed was impressively swift and consistent. Zamir informed me that the boat is equipped with a Yamaha 90hp V Max Sho Outboard, which is not only excellent and lightweight but also easy to maintain—a smart choice.

Fishing Experience

After cruising around on the water with the Lund 1775 Adventure SS for several rounds, I have no complaints about its performance on the water.

Zamir had me stop at a suitable spot so he could demonstrate how well-suited this boat is for fishing. After smoothly anchoring the Lund 1775 Adventure SS on the water, he showed me all the storage compartments on the boat.

Although I had checked out this boat online before coming, the flat diagrams on my phone didn’t quite prepare me for the impact of seeing the actual boat. The bow deck of the boat is not only incredibly spacious, but most of the area below it is utilized as storage. On both port and starboard sides, there are large storage compartments where you can place your tackle boxes.

The Lund 1775 Adventure SS also has a central rod storage compartment that can hold up to ten rods. Its entrance is right next to the driver’s and passenger’s seats, making it easy to access. When I’m planning to spend a day on the water, I can stow my snacks and lunch beneath the passenger seats.

However, the somewhat limited size of the livewell on the Lund 1775 Adventure SS left me slightly disappointed. Fortunately, the boat’s beam is quite spacious, providing ample room for me to place a fish bucket. So, I can overlook this small drawback.

Zamir picked up a fishing rod that was stored on the port side of the boat, then headed to the bow deck to show me his adept fishing skills. Indeed, he effortlessly cast the line. The space here is so ample that even if he hooked a large fish, he could walk around to reel it in without any issues. He then proudly recounted his impressive fishing achievements on this boat.

I was truly envious of those experiences and thinking that soon I’d have the chance to own it too got me exceptionally excited. I’m planning to invite my good friend to explore more freshwater areas and discover different fish species.

Specifications

The Lund 1775 Adventure SS’s 17’10” length makes it a great vessel for anglers to embark on their dream fishing trips. Most importantly, it boasts a maximum weight capacity of 1400 pounds, allowing you to bring along family members or invite friends to join you and enjoy the journey.

The side-console design of the Lund 1775 Adventure SS provides a more spacious mid-boat area. No matter where you cast your line, you can comfortably sit in the fishing chair, waiting for the fish to bite. There are mounting holes for fishing pedestal seats scattered throughout the boat, ensuring convenience.

Furthermore, nearly everyone on the Lund 1775 Adventure SS can enjoy comfortable seating. Even as the driver, you won’t feel left out. There’s seating both behind you and beside you to keep you company.

Among these features, the rod storage compartment can even fit rods up to 7’5″ long, which is quite satisfying. Additionally, in the center of the rear seating area, there’s a 23-gallon livewell. However, if you often spend entire days on the water with many friends, this might feel a bit limited for your needs.

Other Versions

The Lund 1775 Adventure SPORT is a seriously cool bass boat. It features a custom dual console with a walk-through windshield, which offers excellent protection for the helm area. Although the Lund 1775 Adventure SPORT shares the same dimensions as the Lund 1775 Adventure SS, its more substantial hull allows for the installation of a higher horsepower engine, capable of reaching speeds up to 47 miles per hour. However, most of its other performance features are nearly identical to the latter. If you’re more focused on speed, it will surely catch your attention.

Lund 1775 Adventure SS vs Alumacraft Competitor FSX 175

Alumacraft Competitor FSX 175, despite having a wider hull compared to the Lund 1775 Adventure SS, can only accommodate up to five people. Additionally, its seating layout is more dispersed throughout the boat, occupying a significant portion of its space. If you’re aiming to showcase your fishing skills freely, the bow deck would be your ideal spot.

Similar to the previously mentioned Lund 1775 Adventure SPORT, the Alumacraft Competitor FSX 175 features a dual console with windshield at the front of the console. This design protects the captain and passengers seated in the spacious chairs. Notably, Alumacraft Competitor FSX 175 maximizes all available space within the boat for essential living areas. The rear and portside inflatable livewells combine for a total of 56 gallons. The rod storage compartment beneath the roomy bow deck can hold rods up to 8 feet long, catering to all fishing needs on the water.

Furthermore, Alumacraft Competitor FSX 175 is equipped with two marine speakers, allowing you to enjoy music while piloting the boat. However, I must honestly inform you that the boat’s construction involves riveting. If you’re seeking a more rugged and durable hull, this might not be the best news.

Although the Tracker Pro Team 175 TXW can only accommodate four people, its livewell capacity is nearly the same as that of the Lund 1775 Adventure SS. If you have fishing buddies with high expectations for the fishing environment, this boat will satisfy your needs. Furthermore, it’s priced much lower than the latter, making it a more budget-friendly option for consumers with tighter budgets.
