The Ranger RT188 features a side console layout. And the console itself is truly as large as it looks. The ample space ensures that even someone as tall as me, standing at over six feet, never feels cramped when seated at the helm. Hudson was impressed; being the burliest among us, he wanted to try it out too. When he settled into the captain’s seat, he wholeheartedly agreed with my assessment. However, we all concurred that adding armrests and higher backrests would make it even more perfect.
Before I took the wheel of the Ranger RT188, I briefed Silas and Hudson about the functions of the buttons on the dashboard, as they were eager to take the boat for a spin as well. In the center of the dashboard sits a sizable Lowrance® HOOK fishfinder, aiding us in pinpointing suitable fishing spots with greater accuracy.
